Payments and subscriptions
How do I cancel my subscription or request a refund?
To cancel a subscription please email support@origins.net with your Username and the subscription that you would like to cancel. Your subscription will expire at the end of the current term (month or year) and you will not be charged again.

Alternatively, you can cancel your recurring payment agreement through WorldPay's Shopper Management System.
On the Shopper Management System Guide, click the FAQs menu and follow links to cancel my FuturePay agreement. To request a refund please see our Refund Policy and email support@origins.net.
When does my subscription expire / get renewed
To find out when your current subscription will expire or be renewed see Past orders on the Manage your Account page.

Logged in users: click here to Manage your Account.

Note: Annual and Monthly subscriptions are automatically renewed.
Can I upgrade my subscription to Origins Total Access?
Yes, you will need to cancel any existing subscription and then take out a new Origins Total Access subscription, which offers full access to all the collections on British Origins, National Wills Index and Irish Origins for one low fee. Note some original document images are only available through pay-per-view credit purchase, not via subscription access.

Having access to both British and Irish records is particularly helpful for professional researchers and family historians. The extent of migration between Britain and Ireland and the commonality of many names has, compounded with the passing of time, been a cause for confusion even to natives of Britain and Ireland, who need to be able to access source data from both areas to pinpoint their real origins.
How much do subscription packages cost?
Origins offers a range of subscriptions: you can subscribe to British Origins and National Wills Index, Irish Origins, or Origins Total Access, which gives you access to all of Origins’ records and resources. Note some original document images are only available through pay-per-view credit purchase, not via subscription access.
Do I need Pay per View credits?
All collections are available to search with the above subscription packages.
In addition, Origins has some indexes which are free to search after registering. Images of original documents can be found through these free searches. These images are NOT available under subscription packages, but may be purchased with Pay per View credits. Once credits have been purchased you can purchase, view and save original document images. Credits are valid for 365 days from purchase.
Why have I been charged again for my Origins subscription?
All subscriptions (excluding the 72 hour access) are automatically renewed unless you cancel.

To find out when your current subscription will expire or be renewed see Past orders on the Manage your Account page.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept payment by credit/debit cards VISA, Mastercard, American Express, VISA Delta, Switch or Solo, and PayPal. Payments are processed by WorldPay
Acceptance Mark Card payments powered by WorldPay
Is it safe to pay by credit card over the Internet?
All credit card details are transferred encrypted (via SSL) to prevent unauthorised access, and are not stored on our system. Technically this is safer than paying in a restaurant where credit card details may be copied. The use of credit cards for purchases over the Internet is becoming increasingly accepted, as banks, merchants and users realise that this is actually a very secure way to pay for goods and services. Credit card authorisations are performed in real-time and usually take less than 15 seconds. This can increase to a minute or more during busy periods. Payments are processed by WorldPay
How do I identify Origins.net charges on my statement?
These will appear as OMS, ORIGINS. (Origins.net is a trading name of OMS Services Ltd.)
My credit / debit card number has changed. Can I update the details to continue my subscription?
Origins.net does not hold subscriber's payment card details as recurring subscription payments are dealt with by WorldPay. You can update your payment details on WorldPay to continue your Origins.net subscription. Please click the link below and follow the instructions.
I can't get to the Payment page once I click the Purchase button
The majority of problems here have been caused by Firewall software installed on users computers. The Firewall settings are generally too high to allow connection to WorldPay's secure server.

Solution: Lower the Firewall settings for this part of the registration.
With a setting of Medium you will be able to access the payment page but may still not able to make the payment.
Try a setting of Low to make the payment if there is a problem with the Medium setting.
